Jayson 1511
Description:
Bearing the oldest Jayson label, this 1940's vintage Aloha shirt and pants sleep set is in DEADSTOCK condition. Deadstock, "new without tags" - NWOT and "new old stock" - NOS, all mean that the garment has never been worn or washed. I unpinned this lounge wear set to take pictures - which is pretty rare for a 40's garment. It has the FLOWER GIRL photoprint typically found with the Guymont label, but I have seen various manufacturers use this fabric. Garments made from this fabric were the perfect marketing tool for Hawaii because they were made from photos taken around the island. Vignettes showing a crowd at the beach on chairs under lauhala trees, Diamond Head monument, the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, a man weaving lauhala hats against a grass shack, a rocky Hawaiian coastline and women dressed in kimonos near a Hirairi styled temple. The shirt features a left chest pocket, large mother of pearl buttons, neck slot and horizontal button holes. The shirt measures 21 inches across the shoulders, 26 inches across the chest, length is 32 inches and the sleeves are 23 inches. The pants have a double button front, double button fly, crisp elastic and no pockets. The pants measure 19 inches unstretched to 21 inches stretched, 47 inches top to bottom and have a 30 inch inseam. Both are marked "D", for Extra Large. Measures more like XXL. DEADSTOCK condition two tiny pinholes (literally) near the top of the sleeves where I unpinned it for the photos. It has the manufacturer run code on the inside of the pants near the tag, with waist stitching partially covering it.
