This beauty was made in the late 1940's by Duke Kahanamoku and was appraised at the PBS Antiques Roadshow by Caroline Ashleigh off camera in Hawaii for $2500. It has not been for sale until now. This vintage Aloha shirt has iconic Hawaiian images scattered throughout the dark brown background with tiny white dots. Images include palm trees, spear fishermen, net throwers and more. It features dual chest pockets, original mother of pearl shell 4 hole buttons, neckloop and horizontal button holes. Marked EXTRA LARGE 17-17.5, measuring in inches - Shoulders 20, Chest 24, Length 31 and Sleeves 9. Excellent condition - the only defect is a professional 1.5 inch repair on the low right back - very hard to see - see detail photos.
